Russia and India will cooperate in the transport sector

JSC Russian Railways (RZD) and the Ministry of Railways of India signed a memorandum of cooperation, according to the press service of the Russian company. "Russia and India will have a long way to further development in the transport sector. Now the Russian and Indian railway workers will work together on technical projects and share experiences with each other," – said at the signing of the head of the Railways, Vladimir Yakunin, the words which are contained in a news release. The main directions of cooperation between Russian and Indian railway is the implementation of mutually beneficial programs for the development of railway transport, consultancy and other services, including staff training, technical assistance, diagnostic facilities and equipment, as well as the joint organization of meetings, seminars and conferences on issues of mutual interest, the report said. "We can learn a lot from our Russian colleagues to improve the quality of work. Over the past year the volume of freight traffic in India increased by 10%, while passenger traffic growth was 9%. Given that the system of railway transport in Russia is twice the Indian, the exchange of experiences with Russian colleagues will be very useful, "- said the head of Indian Ministry Dzh.P.Barta. The memorandum was signed on March 25 in Moscow.
